Computing Services
Although students are affiliated with all three RU campuses, we have arranged to provide all off-campus students with computer accounts on "Eden", the New Brunswick server or "Clam", the Camden server. This allows us to provide a central point for computing support and help to the students. Useful information about computing services available to students and faculty at Rutgers can be found here: http://rucs.rutgers.edu/ .
Computer Lab
Rutgers has a fully equipped computer lab in room 214. This lab has a direct connection to the Rutgers computer network in New Brunswick and is available for student and faculty use. Faculty who wish to reserve the lab for classroom purposes should make a reservation with the Rutgers staff in Room 113.
Library
- Student ID: All students are eligible for the Rutgers RUConnection photo ID card, which assigns students their library bar code. However, students must also request a PIN code to activate book-borrowing privileges. Instructions are located on the Rutgers Library website: http://www.libraries.rutgers.edu under "How do I connect from home?".
- Remote Book Delivery: Students have full access to the library services; including book borrowing privileges and access to licensed databases and journals. Rutgers uses a delivery service to distribute books from all the Rutgers University libraries in the state to off-campus facilities like Western Monmouth. Students should be aware that this service takes approximately 10 working days for a book to arrive at the WMHEC facility from the time of request. Art Reinhard's office in the Information Commons, room 108, is the distribution point for this service.
Audio-Visual Equipment
Each classroom is equipped with a VCR and monitor, and an overhead projector. Selected Rutgers classrooms are equipped with advanced computer/audio/visual equipment. Requests for alternative audio-visual equipment for faculty/student presentations are made directly to the security officers or to the Rutgers staff in Room 113. Please make requests at least two weeks before equipment is needed.
All classrooms are equipped with a podium, VCR and monitor, and overhead projector.
